Position Overview :
Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, & maintenance of plant production machinery, support equipment, building, & other systems.
The Maintenance Mechanic also assists with related upgrades, improvements, & assigned projects as required. Schedule - 1st shift.
Some overtime on weekdays & weekends as needed.
Key Job Duties :
- Receives & performs job assignments, PM schedules, written or verbal instructions. Follow applicable codes & regulations on work performed
- Emergency requests
- Performs routine inspections & preventative maintenance of assigned equipment & troubleshoots, repairs, & maintains etc.
- Knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems & parts
- Knowledge in wide range of shop tools
- Maintains records, logs & system readings
- Possess a knowledge of electrical schematic & mechanical blueprint reading
- Document completed work
- Complies GMP's
- Other tasks as assigned
Requirements :
- Adheres to DWT policies
- Work independently & collaboratively
- Knowledge of general maintenance techniques, processes, & procedures for the repair, installation, & modifications etc.
- 5 years experience
Below skills and experience, a plus :
- HAAS CNC & Mori Seki milling centers
- PLC controls
- Hydraulic & pneumatic systems & controls
- Process control & instrumentation (temperature, flow, pressure, level, etc.
- Power distribution - 480 VAC
- Perform required calibration for production equipment
Education and Certifications :
- Minimum requirement High school graduate
- Some college / vocational schooling preferred
Skills / Abilities / Behaviors :
- Basic hand, shop & power tools & wide range of test & measuring equipment
- Read & interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals, schematics & drawings
- Conduct various tests to systems.
- Forklift certification a plus
- Good oral / written communication skills
- Troubleshooting skills
- Follow safety rules
- Experience in the printing & converting industries
- Able to perform work above ground level EG work on Scissor lift with safety straps & climb ladders to perform various duties
- Work with up to 480 volts high amperage electrical installation
- Use of various shop machinery
Physical Demands
- Work requires physical abilities such as extended periods of standing and walking in the production facility, & some occasional lifting of heavy items, ability to work in dark & or tight spaces
- Use of ladders & elevated walkways / scissor lifts required
Work Environment
- Industrial environment
- Exposed to electricity, compressed air systems, hydraulics, propane, & chemicals
- Noise levels / duration & occasional contact to chemicals that would require proper PPE to be worn
