Aloft and Element North Kansas City

As the Operations Manager , you will play a key leadership role in the daily operations of our dual-branded property, with a primary focus on Food & Beverage (F&B) and Event Operations . You will support and help drive exceptional service across our bar, breakfast, banquets, and conference center spaces. In addition, you will assist the Rooms Division —specifically housekeeping and maintenance —during lower-volume event periods to ensure smooth, well-rounded hotel operations.

This is a hands-on, guest-facing leadership position that requires operational flexibility, a strong service mindset, and the ability to lead and support cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Operational Leadership :

  • Oversee the daily operations of F&B outlets, including WXYZ Bar, breakfast service, banquet functions, and event support in the Diamond Conference Center.
  • Coordinate with the culinary team, front office, and events teams to ensure seamless execution of events and group services.
  • Provide support to housekeeping and maintenance teams during non-peak event times, ensuring brand standards are met and guest rooms are maintained.
  • Help maintain operational readiness across the entire property, supporting the General Manager in the execution of daily hotel operations.
  • Assist in managing and improving standard operating procedures, scheduling, and service delivery.

Guest Experience & Service :

  • Act as a visible, engaged leader on the floor during peak meal periods, events, and high-occupancy days.
  • Proactively interact with guests to assess satisfaction and address concerns immediately.
  • Ensure all service touchpoints align with the Aloft and Element brand experience.
  • Monitor and respond to guest feedback and online reviews in partnership with the leadership team.
  • Team Management & Training :

  • Lead and support F&B and event staff through coaching, scheduling, training, and daily supervision.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure cross-training opportunities for staff in F&B, housekeeping, and front office roles.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of associates in line with KMG Hotels' values.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, service excellence, and teamwork.
  • Administrative & Financial Duties :

  • Assist in managing F&B inventory, ordering, and vendor relations to maintain proper stock levels and control costs.
  • Review daily financial reports and assist with forecasting and budgeting across key departments.
  • Monitor labor and expense metrics to support financial goals while maintaining service standards.
  • Ensure operational compliance with safety regulations, brand standards, and local laws.
