RN Educator Med Surg Clinical FT Days Position Summary
Under the guidance of the Market Education Director, the Nursing Educator collaborates with facility / market nursing leadership and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested.
The educator acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff at Tenet Healthcare. The Nursing Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his / her assigned units while following and contributing to Tenet educational goals and vision.
Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through councils, committees, and workgroups.
THE RN EDUCATOR MED SURG CLINICAL FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Education or related specialty
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE : 1 year nursing experience in an acute care setting
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Current State Licenses & Certifications

The RN provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process.
The RN directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided.
Assumes responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime. Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and / or disaster.
Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code.
Education :
Required : Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience :
Preferred : Recent acute care experience.
Certifications :
Required : Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy;
CPR. AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and / or PALS and / or NRP.
