Responsibilities :

Under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for DEI, this individual will spend 40% of their effort supporting the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to carry out its strategic plan, coordinate meetings, manage programmatic activities such as trainings / events, manage data / metrics for evaluation, and manage communications / marketing / website and outreach content.

For 60% of their time, the project coordinator will carry out research responsibilities to support injury and violence prevention projects and the development of a new Injury and Violence Prevention Center at UC Irvine.

Qualifications :

  • Data analysis skills (quantitative and / or qualitative). Preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate easily and effectively with people within and outside the University, including both strong written and verbal communications. Required
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize Required
  • Skill to use a personal computer and computer software programs at the level of sophistication required for general office work.

Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with the Internet and how to conduct searches. Required

  • Proficient writing skills to prepare / compose / review a variety of communications, primarily electronic. Required
  • Fluent in Spanish Preferred

Required :

  • Bachelors Degree (or substantial experience) in a related health-related field.
  • Position is subject to the California DMV's Pull Notice System and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record.
  • Current State of California Driver's License

Preferred :

  • 1-3 years Previous experience in social & behavioral research, environmental health, psychology, and / or health promotion program preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish Preferred
