As a Principal Software Engineer Manager specializing in Cloud Networking, you will lead a team of software engineers to innovate on the latest networking platform, providing customers with a rich set of networking features and the highest level of network security.
You and your team will collaborate with internal and external teams, as well as industry partners, to ensure that customer and business requirements are met while upholding our Service Level Agreement (SLA).
This role provides an opportunity for you to leverage and expand your expertise in large-scale networking while driving the effort to enhance the resiliency, performance and debuggability of our networking solutions.
You will also be responsible for troubleshooting customer reported incidents and continuously improving the quality of our offerings.

Responsibilities
- Guides partnership with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project manager, technical lead) to determine user requirements within and across teams.
- Guides teams and leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for products and solutions.
- Guides team to drive multiple group's project plans, release plans, and work items in coordination with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers).
- Guides team and acts as an expert for Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and monitors other engineers across product lines, working on call to monitor system / product / service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.
- Leads product development and scaling to customer requirements and applies best practices for meeting scaling needs and performance expectations and holds accountability for products that do not meet expectations.
- Operates networking solutions with the highest quality bar and invests in developing and deploying robust automation tools that increase engineering efficiency, minimize operational burden, and reduce human errors, while optimizing the utilization of infrastructure and resources.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience in the TCP / IP networking stack OR equivalent experience.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings :
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master or Doctorate degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in the TCP / IP stack
- 5+ years of experience in Data Center Networking
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
