About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Must-Have : Willingness to float to Nursery and NICU
Description :
All clinicians must badge in and out while in the facility.
Must note if the clinician has ever worked for the organization previously.
If the clinician has worked previously, an end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission.
The unit does not accept local travelers with permanent addresses within 80 miles.
Care of the Labor and Delivery patient and nursing care during delivery is required.
This includes high-risk patients.
Postpartum care for mothers and babies is required.
Gynecological surgical postoperative care is also required.
Fetal monitors, suction devices, oxygen, vital signs monitors, OBIX documentation, centralized monitoring for Labor and Delivery, and EPIC for gynecology will be used during the assignment.
Required skills include Labor and Delivery, Mother / Baby care, gynecological care, and fetal monitoring.
The nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 for Labor and Delivery, 1 : 3 for mother / baby couplets, and 4 for gynecological patients.
A combination of mother / babies and gynecological patients equals a ratio of 1 : 5-6.
The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs for gynecological and mother / baby care or hospital-provided scrubs for Labor and Delivery.
Cancellation policy allows for client cancellations up to 12 hours every 13 weeks.
Charting will be conducted using the EPIC system.
Shift requirements include working nights with some day shifts and weekends.
Floating to other units or departments is expected, including assistance in Nursery and NICU.
The training and orientation program consists of 36 hours for travelers.
