About The Position
Job Title : Sterile Processing Technician Job Specialty : Central Processing Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Evening 8, 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Previous experience in hospital or clinic operating room preferred License : Not applicable Certifications : Not applicable Must-Have : - High School diploma or equivalent- Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-functional team- Experience with computers and ability to learn relevant software- Ability to function in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment- Availability to work nights and / or weekends Job Description : Assemble, clean, disinfect, sterilize, and store procedure trays, surgical trays, and equipment- Assemble, distribute, and deliver disposable and durable medical equipment, case carts, and supplies for various departments- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment- Disassemble carts and follow precautions for decontamination- Sterilize and disinfect equipment and instruments, package clean supplies, maintain records, and transport items- Assemble sterilized instruments and verify cleanliness and functionality- Track instruments, label, and report / document missing instruments and replacements- Communicate inventory status with the Central Processing staff and Charge Nurse- Respond to emergencies by ensuring timely delivery of supplies to the Operating Room- Use applications and technology for accurate record-keeping- Provide on-the-job training to new associates- Promote mission, vision, and values of the organization and adhere to service behavior standards- Perform additional duties as assigned- Flexible to work based on business needs, including floats to other departments- Participate in on-call schedules during shifts
