Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a highly-skilled and compassionate RN to deliver exceptional patient care in the arrhythmia care unit (ACU).

In this role you will provide patient-centered direct nursing care to our cardiovascular intensive care unit step down patients.

• As a registered nurse in the ACU you will provide therapeutic care of patients with new onset atrial fibrillation, antiarrhythmic drug loading and dosing, and post-electrophysiology catheterization lab procedures.
• Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, cardiac specialists and patient care staff, you will administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the facility.
• During every shift you will monitor, record and communicate patient conditions utilizing our computerized documentation systems.

As a part of the clinical team, you will coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team and participate in patient / family education.

When dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers, you will maintain cultural and diversity awareness, and much more.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).

Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.

1 year of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
