Central Office Administrative Assistant

Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, or in a related office support role (school system or governmental office experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and standard office equipment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and Board may deem appropriate and acceptable.
Reports To : Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or assigned administrator
Supervises : None
Job Goal : To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the central office by providing professional, courteous, and confidential clerical and administrative support, thereby contributing to the effective operation of Gadsden City Schools.
Performance Responsibilities :
Serve as a first point of contact by answering phones, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.Prepare, type, edit, and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, and official documents as required.Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and assist with coordination of district and departmental activities.Maintain accurate files, records, and databases in compliance with Board policies and state / federal requirements.Assist with preparation of Board of Education meeting agendas, minutes, packets, and related materials.Handle incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and official system communications.Assist with purchasing, requisitions, and inventory of supplies for assigned departments.Support the preparation and submission of required state, federal, and local reports.Provide courteous and professional customer service to employees, students, parents, and community stakeholders.Maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel, student, and system information.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.Work Year : 12 months
Salary : District Salary Schedule for Central Office Administrative Assistant.
Evaluation : Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Gadsden City Schools Board of Education policy.
