UCI is home to the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC), one of 55 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers, and is one of only 23 institutions also holding an NCATS-funded Clinical Translational Science Award.

In addition to the UCI Medical Center located in Orange, a new $1.3 billion medical center is under construction on the UCI Irvine campus that will include a new 220,000 sq.

ft. outpatient cancer center and a 144 bed specialty hospital that will be the new home of the HSCT and ACT programs. Additional facilities include a newly opened seven room cGMP cellular production facility.

It is anticipated that the ACT program will engage with investigators in the CIRM-funded Sue & Bill Gross Stem Cell Institute, the UCI Institute for Immunology, the CFCCC, and the clinical investigators of UCI Health.
