As a Mechanical Engineer , you will have the opportunity to leverage your drafting skills to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of HVAC systems.
The Mechanical Engineer will play a vital role in preparing technical reports, accurately gathering load calculations and projects measurements.

What you will do :
- Perform detailed calculations related to HVAC systems including heating / cooling loads, equipment selection, and sizing, pipe and duct sizing, friction loss calculations, etc.
- Utilize engineering principles to ensure the construction of efficient and effective mechanical systems.
- Complete applications engineering including psychometrics, refrigeration layout / sizing, acoustics, and controls systems layout.
- Develop and review equipment schedules and submittals.
- Prepare Title 24 Acceptance documents and Cal-Green documentation.
- Responsible for Code Compliance and assistance with LEED certifications / Documentation.
- Perform CAD drafting work including the 3D modeling and implementation of design standards.
- Provide HVAC system layouts and engineering for projects to be utilized for prospective projects and secured jobs.
- Maintain an understanding of all current HVAC system and technology, including current drafting / modeling products and best practices.
- Produce deliverables such drawings and specifications related to heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills as a design professional and remain updated on current HVAC systems, technology, and current drafting / modeling best practices.
- Collaborate with detailers to ensure Revit models and shop drawings are consistent and constructible.
- Participate in the preparation of all project closeout as-built drawings.
- Represent the company as a design professional during project team design meetings.
- Maintain a commitment to excellence and always act in the best interest of Silicon Valley Mechanical.
Education, Skills & Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of mechanical or industrial engineering; or equivalent Project engineering, Drafting / Modeling, or field experience required
- 2+ years of HVAC design experience or similar role required.
- Proficient MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) highly preferred
- Proven ability to perform the design of simple HVAC systems a must
- Demonstrates proficiency at performing load calculations and Title 24 a must
- Basic understanding of pdf management software, Bluebeam; and drafting software, Revit a plus
Compensation and Company Benefits Include :
This is a full-time exempt position. The compensation for this role is $75,000 - $140,000 annually and is based on experience and skillset.
