The Pre-K Bus Buddy is a temporary initiative put in place to assist the Early Childhood Department in transporting students to and from school.
Hourly Rate : $. / hour ( no benefits )
Hours : Up to hours per week MAX
Location : Various
Work Hours : 9 : am - : am
1 : pm - 2 : pm
Transportation is only for : am - 1 : pm
Minimum Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Temperament, personality and patience to deal with young children
- Access to transportation to / from bus compound
The Pre-K Bus Buddy is a sub that performs the following duties :
Assists in the pickup and delivery of students from / to parent, guardian or authorized individual
Assists in supervising the loading and unloading of students
Assists in seating all students in the center of the bus (as specified in State Transportation Guidelines)
Assists the driver in maintaining a positive environment on the bus
Maintain a daily log in the bus monitor logbook. Note each child's pick-up time and drop-off times. The log should be cumulative from the first day of school until the last day of school
Creates and maintains a substitute bus monitor logbook to be made available to substitute bus monitors
Maintain good communication with the bus driver
Meet the bus at the designated times and places as determined by Transportation Services
Monitors students during transitions to and from the bus
Monitors students while on the bus and communicates to the bus driver safety concerns
Completes all trainings and other compliance requirements as assigned and by the designated deadline
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Performs any other responsibilities as outlined in State Transportation Guidelines for students
Check the entire bus after each run to be sure all children are off the bus. Walk the entire length of bus to check all seats and under all seats
Follow all policies and procedures of the local school
