Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace
Salary : $100,000 - 135,000 / year
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing and improving manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining production systems to ensure high-quality and efficient production while adhering to aerospace industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
Process Improvement : Analyze and improve existing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Technical Support : Provide technical support to the manufacturing floor, troubleshoot issues, and offer solutions to production challenges.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Design and Development : Collaborate with design engineers to review and refine product designs for manufacturability.
Develop and implement manufacturing plans, tooling, fixtures, and processes.
- Quality Assurance : Monitor and ensure that production processes meet quality standards. Develop and maintain documentation for process controls, work instructions, and quality procedures.
- Project Management : Lead and manage projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new product introductions.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Data Analysis : Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, root causes of issues, and areas for improvement.
Utilize data-driven approaches to make informed decisions.
Training and Development : Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Education : Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced degree is a plus.
Experience : Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, with significant experience in the aerospace industry.
Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and regulatory standards is essential.
Technical Skills : Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA), manufacturing execution systems (MES), and other relevant engineering tools.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100).
Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
