Job Summary :
The Medical Administrative Support Specialist coordinates patient appointments, manages communication with patients, and supports clinical operations.
This role involves handling outgoing and incoming patient communications, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with various administrative tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Also, I must be available to cross-cover for other medical assistants.
Key Responsibilities :
1. coordinating patient care.
- Communicating with patients over the phone.
- Reviewing inbox.
- Conducting outreach.
2. Authorization and Referrals and miscellaneous :
- Handle pre-authorization requests.
- Manage overflow referrals to ensure timely processing.
- Update the lab interface with diagnosis requests as necessary.
- Review fax and assign to a provider or submit for records request.
- Help with Inventory
3. Medical Assistant Coverage :
- Provide coverage for medical assistants during their vacations or when they call off.
- Assist with clinical tasks as needed to ensure continuity of care.
