Description
General Summary :
Responsible for preparing shipments to customers / suppliers and receives and unloads incoming material to ensure that the parts flow meets or exceeds the customer requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
- Able to communicate material in a clear and concise manner either through written or verbal instructions.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of shipping and packaging procedures.
- Self-starter, independent and able to work with others in a team environment.
- Working knowledge and ability to operate powered motor equipment i.e. forklift, pallet jack, crane etc.
- Considerable knowledge of safety practices.
- Demonstrates a strong work ethic that shows a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, safety, productivity and safety.
- Able to adapt to changing work environments, deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to follow instructions; responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.
Position Requirements
Education & Experience Required :
- HS Diploma or GED
- Material handling experience including use of overhead hoists
- Fork truck operation background preferred.
