Fund Accountant / Accounting Manager Pittsburgh, PA

Central Data Services, Inc. is the largest locally-owned and operated employee benefit services firm in the greater Pittsburgh area.

We are seeking candidates interested in working in a fast-paced environment specializing in health benefit administration and client and customer service to fill a supervisory position in the accounting department.

The Fund Accountant provides supervision for a team of staff accountants and accounting clerks posting cash, entering payables and preparing GAAP financial statements for individual Trust clients.

We serve ERISA employee benefit plans including welfare, annuity and pension plans. Experience with accounting for these types of plans preferred.

Essential job functions

• Preparation of GAAP financial reports.
• Supervision of staff posting of payments including daily deposits, ACH files, and pension deductions and ensuring they are recorded to the appropriate client account
• Supervision of Accounts Payable : entering and paying invoices for client accounts
• Processing refunds for overpaid member accounts, transfer of funds to correct accounts, and recording and processing NSF’s
• Reconciling bank statements for claims and operating accounts, research processing discrepancies
• Presentation of financial reports for clients.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

College Degree or equivalent years of experience in accounting, for ERISA Benefit plans preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office and accounting programs including Excel, Outlook, Word and QuickBooks required.
