About The Position
Job Title : Histotechnologist II Job Specialty : - Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : 8 Hours, 5x8 Hours Guaranteed Hours : 40.
00 per week Experience : 1 or more years of related work experience required License : MLT, MT, HTL, or HT certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Certifications : MLT, MT, HTL, or HT certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists Must-Have : - Knowledge of histology lab processes, including tissue processing, microtomy, special staining procedures, and immunohistochemistry.
- Ability to work with precision under periods of pressure and stress.- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools. Job Description : Perform routine and advanced professional and technical work in the Histology Laboratory.
- Receive tissue specimens and ensure they are correctly labeled and assigned an accession number.- Place specimens in proper fixation material.
- Assist the pathologist in gross dissection and submission of tissue for histologic examination; verify proper accession number.
- Process sections for microscopic examination through required phases for preservation and fixation.- Embed and section tissue and mount it on slides for examination.
- Conduct all routine and special staining techniques, as well as immunohistochemistry and advanced methods.- Participate in quality assurance and statistical data gathering.
- Establish strict controls to ensure accurate identification of specimens as to source and type.
