JOBSUMMARY

This operatingcompany (OpCo) based position will assist with the implementationof prevention-focused health, safety, and environmental (HSE) andsecurity programs.

The position will assist and promoteOpCo-specific project implementation and training to support Syscos overall HSE objectives, including security and crisispreparednessobjectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completenew hire orientation training programs as assigned by the safetydirector.
  • Maintain records for safety programs(ie training logs, reports,inspections).
  • Implement and train new orexisting training programs, provided by safety director, toemployees and supervision as needed.
  • Inspectfacilities to detect existing or potentially unsafeconditions.
  • Participates in investigations onvehicle accidents and injuries.
  • Assist with theidentification of root causes and helps supervision developcorrective actions when needed.
  • Engagesassociates to properly follow work methods in their daily jobfunctions.
  • Completes observations and coachingof high-risk associates as needed
  • Monitorsinspection of equipment to detect existing or potential failuresand recommends corrective / preventative measures whereindicated.
  • Support site management in theimplementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE)plans.
  • Promotes a workplace that is a proactivesafety culture.
  • Provide supervisor andmanagement training on root causeanalysis.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies(OSHA, DOT, EPA, and State / Local Regulators) in the safetydirector's absence.
  • Assists with the completionof a company-wide annual HSE trainingplan.
  • Promote zero-incident HSE culturethroughout the company.
  • Support execution ofSysco s emergency preparedness plan procedures andpolicies.
  • Maintains associate relations throughregular interactions and communication, monitors associate moraleand provides feedback to leadership whenneeded.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Associates degree and / or a minimum of 2 years of safety experience with OSHAcertifications.

Experience

  • 2+years with direct hands-on safety experience in a warehousing,manufacturing or transportation operation.
  • 2+years of experience with occupational safetypreferred.

Certificates,Licenses, andRegistrations

  • Has attainedor is working toward certification in safety as a recognized safetyprofessional.
  • Must possess a valid Driver sLicense.
