Job Description :
The Assistant Manager at Roger Dunn Golf Shops is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture that aligns with Worldwide Golf’s values, ensuring a memorable and positive customer experience.
The Assistant Manager executes the day-to-day plans and strategies developed by the Store Manager and shares responsibility for creating a positive golf store experience.
Responsibilities Include :
- Maintain strong knowledge of all golf products and ensure that employees can educate customers on all offerings.
- Control shrink and expenses while ensuring the sales floor is adequately stocked & signed, and products are displayed to brand presentation.
- Ensure execution of all visual merchandising programs and maintain displays.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management, meetings, store walk-throughs, and audits.
- Monitor company communication tools daily and adjust schedules to execute workload as needed.
- Become a Roger Dunn Golf Shops brand ambassador in the local community, building key external relationships and partnerships.
- Respond to negative customer experiences by de-escalating situations and using feedback to coach employees.
- Help employees grow their career and golf skill set by identifying opportunities for growth.
- Recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.
Qualifications Desired :
- 2+ years of retail management experience OR experience working in the golf industry is required.
- A strong golf background is preferred, but extensive retail management experience is acceptable.
Requirements :
- Working knowledge of POS register systems and word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet, and order processing systems.
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret business reports and correspondence effectively.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
- Ability to access all areas of the store, including sales floor, stock area, and register area, and lift / move up to 35 pounds.
- Willingness to work varied hours / days as business dictates.
