Laboratory Technician I
One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to work on a 12-month assignment in Gregory, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support / assist the lab supervisors / chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis / wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance / control.
- Perform calibration and maintenance of test equipment.
- Prepare samples and ensure accurate data generation and records, in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
- Utilize analytical instruments to address quality assurance / control issues.
- Prepare chemical stock solutions and reagents, as well as set preparation standards.
- Position will receive direction and support.
- Work in a fast paced, state of the art industrial lab
- Perform all tasks with the highest degree of conformance to all Safety standards / procedures
- Perform specified test methods and lab analysis on process and product samples
- Maintain rigorous conformity to methods and procedures
- Conduct lab analysis and Statistical Quality Control (SQC) tests according to schedule
- Maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on assigned lab equipment
- Assist in maintenance and calibrations as necessary
- Maintain an understanding of basic lab QA / QC requirements
- Effectively communicate lab operations to supervisors, chemists, specialists and coworkers as necessary
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Polytechnic graduate with background in Chemical / Process / Technical Engineering.
- Computer-literate.
- Preferable experience in quality control systems.
- Familiar with basic wet chemistry techniques : pipetting, aliquoting / dilutions, etc.
