Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, collaborates with IDT members team to coordinate transportation and scheduling services and optimize efficiency, and cost.
The Transportation Manager manages the Associate Transportation Manager, Dispatchers, CDL Drivers, Transportation Aides and Appointment Schedulers.
Responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of the transportation and scheduling services while also maintaining customer service.
This includes scheduling appointments with contracted providers, transport of participants, meals, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, and any other transportation as deemed necessary.
Will be responsible for hiring, training and supervision of all associate manager, drivers, escorts, dispatchers, and schedulers.
Oversees vehicle repairs and maintenance program. Identifies opportunities for increased quality service and cost-effective vendors for the same.
As a CMS required IDT member, the Transportation Manager is responsible to ensure departmental participation in all care coordination meetings.
Responsible for meeting departmental budget, safety, and customer service goals. This position ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, State DOH and DHHS regulations, FMCSA, DOT and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare, logistics or business .
- 2-4 years supervisory experience.
- Five (5) years of experience in the transportation industry.
Certification / Licensure :
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- CDL License with passenger preferred .
Knowledge & Skills :
- Knowledge of ADA policies and safety requirements pertaining to the transportation industry.
- Demonstrated success implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT rules, regulations, and policies.
