Join Our Team as a Ballast Water Sampling and Testing Specialist!

Under the 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP) requirements, vessels operating a ballast water treatment system and discharging ballast water must collect and analyze ballast water discharge samples. Your responsibilities will include testing for :

• Total heterotrophic bacteria (2 times in the first year, then 1 time per year thereafter)
• E. coli (2 times in the first year, then 1 time per year thereafter)
• Enterococci (2 times in the first year, then 1 time per year thereafter)
• Residual Biocides (3 times for the first 10 discharges, then 2 times per year)

As microbiological samples must be analyzed within 8 hours, prompt testing is essential. ATS has established a network of participating laboratories nationwide to ensure timely access to testing facilities. We are currently providing VGP sampling services in the following areas :
