We are seeking Hmong Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Hmong is a rare language of critical need in immigration and asylum cases, making this role essential to ensuring applicants have equitable access to services.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Hmong English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.Deliver interpretation with accuracy, impartiality, and cultural sensitivity.Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS / DHS standards.Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge calls.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Hmong and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, medical, or legal preferred).Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.Strong communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance.Compensation & Benefits
