Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities.

Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care.

Summary :

Respiratory District Float Pool - EVERGREEN-Provides care for patients on assigned units in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities :

Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance support groups and other resources.

Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community.

Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations.

ACCOUNTABILITY, ARTERIAL BLOOD GAS SAMPLING - ARTERIAL PUNCTURE, ARTIFICIAL AIRWAY CARE / MAINTENANCE, CUSTOMER SERVICE, HFNC / VAPOTHERM, MECHANICAL VENTILATION WEANING / PULMONARY MECHANICS, NON-INVASIVE POSITIVE PRESSURE VENTILATION (NIPPV), PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE, RESPONDING TO CHANGE, STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR

Education and Certification Requirements :

Accredited Program : Respiratory Therapy (Required)ACLS Certification non ecard (ACLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), Certified Respiratory Therapist (TT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), NRP Certification (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), PALS American Heart non ecard (PALS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Complexity of Work : This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships.

The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required. Required to work throughout the South Broward Hospital District in various nursing units treating a diverse range of patients under changing circumstances and challenges in different settings.

Required Work Experience : Two (2) years of experience in acute care setting required.
