As an Information Technology Specialist I you will have the opportunity to :

  • Manage IT projects using the Project Management Institute, Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMI-PMBOK), California Project Management Framework (CA-PMF) and departmental project management methodology, ensuring customer needs are met, departmental standards are followed, and project milestones and deliverables are accomplished in order to deliver IT projects on-time and within budget
  • Define and manage a project approach for specific projects or IT Project Concept Request initiatives to implement best practices for Agile Project Management, Waterfall or a hybrid approach
  • Lead the interdisciplinary project management team in the development of project management plans in order to efficiently communicate the project goals and expectations with the stakeholders, project sponsor, and team
  • Produce periodic status reports to communicate the project progress and issues with the stakeholders, project sponsor, and team.

Independently manages project activities against the schedules and resources allocated by the approved project plans

Desirable Qualifications We Look For :

  • Certification or exam eligibility for Project Managent Professional (PMP)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Well developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze data and situations, identify and solve problems, reason logically, draw valid concusions, and develop effective solutions
  • Experience facilitating and leading groups in the disscussion of complex problems and proposed solutions
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent customer service
  • Ability to work independently but within a collaborative team environment
