JOBSUMMARY
This OperatingCompany (OpCo) based position will assist with the implementationof prevention-focused health, safety and environmental (HSE) andsecurity program.
The position will assist and promote OpCo-specific project implementation and training to support Sysco'soverall HSE objectives, including security and crisis preparednessobjectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completenew hire orientation training programs as assigned by the SafetyDirector.
- Maintain records for safety programs(ie training logs, reports,inspections).
- Implement and train new orexisting training programs, provided by Safety Director, toemployees and supervision as needed.
- Inspectfacilities to detect existing or potentially unsafeconditions
- Participates in investigations, whenneeded, on vehicle accidents andinjuries.
- Assist with the identification ofroot causes and helps supervision develop corrective actions whenneeded.
- Engages associates to properly followwork methods in their daily jobfunctions.
- Completes observations and coachingof high-risk associates as needed
- Monitorsinspection of equipment to detect existing or potential failuresand recommends corrective / preventative measures whereindicated.
- Support site management in theimplementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE)plans.
- Promotes a workplace that is a proactivesafety culture.
- Provide supervisor andmanagement training on root causeanalysis.
- Interface with regulatory bodies(OSHA, DOT, EPA, and State / Local Regulators) in the SafetyDirectors absence.
- Aids with the completion ofa company-wide annual HSE trainingplan.
- Develop effective interdepartmentalrelationships
- Display strong problem solving,organizational and analyticalskills.
- Demonstrate professional maturity andability to act as a change member.
- Promotezero-incident HSE culture throughout thecompany.
- Support execution of Sysco's EmergencyPreparedness Plan procedures andpolicies.
- Interprets trains and consistentlyenforces Company policies andprocedures.
- Maintains associate relationsthrough regular interactions and communication, monitors associatemorale and provides feedback to leadership whenneeded.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Associate'sdegree and / or a minimum of 2 years of safety experience with OSHAcertifications.
Experience
- 2+years with direct hands-on safety experience in a warehousing,manufacturing or transportation operation.
- 2+years of experience with Occupational Safetypreferred.
Certificates,Licenses, andRegistrations
- Has attainedor is working toward certification in safety as a recognized safetyprofessional
- Must possess a valid Driver'sLicense
