Job Summary

The Mueller lab is seeking highly motivated and responsible applicants for a full-time lab manager position as a Staff Research Associate I- II in our group.

The main interest of our research is studying the mechanisms pediatric brain tumors and develop new therapies for these difficult to treat tumors.

The candidates are expected to contribute to ongoing work in these areas, with specific responsibilities to include :

  • maintenance of key laboratory documents
  • maintaining cell lines in culture and performing in vitro drug testing
  • performing western blot analysis and cell cycle analysis
  • maintain the laboratory activities
  • will work closely with collaborators in Europe
  • will support manuscript writing

Department Description

Throughout the Department of Neurology at UCSF, our mission is to deliver superb patient care, to apply state-of-the-art translational research methods to discover the causes of, and treatments for human nervous system disorders, and to educate each generation of medical students, neurology residents and postdoctoral fellows.

By fostering cross-disciplinary interactions among scientists around the world, we accelerate the pace of discovery and champion the University's global health initiatives.

Required Qualifications

SRA I :

  • BA / BS in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position;
  • and / or an equivalent combination of education and experience;

SRA II :

BA / BS in a related science and one or more years of recent, directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position;

and / or equivalent experience / training.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to keep good laboratory records and documentation
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate work tasks with others in the lab
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple deadlines

Note : Classification and salary will depend on the qualifications of the applicant.
