CUSTODIAN SUPERVISOR
Job Overview
Under direction of the Facility Manager, the Custodial Supervisor will oversee programs / projects developed by Facility Management.
The Custodial Supervisor will provide oversee the custodial tasks listed in the contract. The Custodial Supervisor will coordinate the planning and scheduling of department personnel, ensure department performance standards are maintained, and coordinate all efforts to ensure contract policies are followed.
This position has a salary of $92,000.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions :
- Directs and schedules all department personnel and / or subcontractors in conjunction with the Facility Manager as required for effective work completion of all departmental tasks and any other assigned work.
- Provides leadership, training, motivation, performance evaluation, coaching, recognition and accountability for assigned employees and facilities.
- Develops and maintains a custodian schedule and disseminates the schedule to the Facility Manager for review.
- Ensures custodial stock is maintained and places supply orders in a timely fashion.
- Establishes custodian priorities that are linked to contract objectives for safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity.
- Conducts random inspections / review of work in progress. Ensures procedures are being followed and the highest level of quality standards met.
- Reviews completed site work to verify compliance in accordance with statement of work.
- Develops and maintains records management system relevant to trade.
- Assigns all work with clear and specific instructions to minimize the potential for work to be completed in error. On complex work orders, makes advance visit to the job site to determine extent of work required.
- Coordinates all contract work with other Departments, Managers and Supervisors as required. Rotates personnel from one job site to another as required after coordination with Facility Manager.
- Ensures that plans, blueprints, materials and stocks are obtained from supply locations.
- Assists to develop cost estimates, budgets, correspondence, and status reports.
- Prepares and presents weekly / monthly Technical Progress Reports as required.
- Maintains current knowledge and answers questions from employees on procedures, policies, instructions, technical orders and manufacturer manuals.
- Informs Facility Manager of problems encountered in the procurement of supplies and equipment and their resolution.
- Advises Facility Manager of overall work operations and problems; coordinates training needs, recommends promotions, demotions, and commendations.
- Reviews, verifies, and processes departmental time sheets and submits them in a timely manner for review by the Facility Manager.
- Plans, organizes work, and meet all deadlines with minimal or no supervision.
- Coordinates with other trade and warehouse personnel in the identification of proper and correct materials, parts assemblies and requirements for a variety of requisitions necessary for the job / task.
- Updates the Work Order log comments as required.
- Maintains records of work performed and materials used.
- Responds to emergency site maintenance as required and is reachable during off-hours.
- Inspects and diagnoses problems to determine corrective actions / repairs in all trade disciplines.
- Operates CIS-owned motor vehicles and / or other equipment.
- Performs various lower classified duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required.
- Supports other department staff as needed or directed.
- May be required to provide coverage for the Facility Manager.
- Adheres to the established DBSI safety and personnel policies and standard operating procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory :
- High School Graduate or equivalent GED.
- Five (5) years of experience janitorial maintenance related work.
- Two (2) years of experience in a leadership role or in supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate subordinates to attain stated objectives.
- Computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Mature judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS / SCI) level clearance (Custodial Supervisor).
The ability to obtain and maintain a Favorable National Agency Check w / Inquiries (NACI); or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level, as applicable to the position requirement.
- Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
