GENERAL PURPOSE :
The Engineer III plays a critical role in engineering solutions supporting Ross Merchandising systems delivery, collaborating with functional business teams and other IT teams to deliver large transformation programs for the Merchandising domain.
Lead the team that translates business needs into system requirements and drive technical delivery with ownership of the overall IT technical solution and vendor platforms.
This role requires a good understanding of retail business processes and the ability to create robust, scalable solutions.
The base salary range for this role is $125,400 - $214,200 The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location.
The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable IT solutions for our retail merchandising platforms.
Have in-depth experience in iterative project delivery (Agile) and Retail merchandising business acumen. Oversee the technical aspects of projects, including planning, execution, quality assurance and timely delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess technical feasibility, translate them into a well-architected solution, and drive project timelines.
Ensure system reliability, performance, security by following best practices and proactive monitoring.
Contribute to modernization projects by providing guidance on overall design and technical direction, taking the lead in establishing guidelines and approaches.
Own the retail system data model, data dictionaries and provide input into data modeling.
Keep up to date with emerging technologies and retail industry trends to drive system improvements and optimizations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED :
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or equivalent combination of education, industry certifications and relevant experience
7 years of experience in software engineering with a focus on retail merchandising systems. application design and development, preferably in the retail industry, with a minimum 3-year experience leading projects that involved cloud migration or business transformation.
3-5 years of experience leading projects that involved cloud migration or business transformation, including conducting and participating in design and code reviews
Proven experience in implementing retail merchandising systems using Oracle and PLM / Sourcing / Compliance tools such as BambooRose or similar solutions.
Demonstrate technical expertise in building full stack web applications using modern technologies. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript or Python
Conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure, products, and services, such as application security, networking protocols, encryption, and other technologies.
Demonstrated ability to learn and acquire new technologies in the areas of web & mobile application development
Experience with database design and development, modeling, including SQL and NoSQL databases. Expert SQL knowledge required.
Familiarity with ProC highly desired.
Ability to analyze and creatively solve complex technical problems
Ability to work in a group setting and independently

This position requires the ability to work in an office environment, including using a computer, attending meetings, working as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with team members and others.
Regular attendance also is a requirement of the position.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and / or feedback.
However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
