Job Description : About the role :
- We have an exciting opportunity for an MCAD Administrator with a strong background in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Professional software(s) and associated data management processes.
- This role will be responsible for managing migration of acquired MCAD data and harmonizing engineering applications into our clients systems.
Technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills will play a crucial role in successfully onboarding acquisitions.
Job responsibilities include :
- Assess acquired MCAD Data for quality level and provide resource / remediation estimates.
- Attend and contribute to Kaizen Sessions for holistic Migration / Integration process and schedule.
- Develop and Document MCAD Migration Strategies with Cross Functional Groups (R&D, Quality, Supplier Engineering, Process Engineering, etc.
including Acquired Stakeholders.
- Train Acquired Design teams on newly developed processes for MCAD and data management.
- Host cross functional meetings (weekly) with Integration CAD resources.
- Collaborate with IT during Laptop Rollout for acquired resources.
- Resolve issues / strategy / timeline changes as they arise.
- Identify Lessons Learned in Migration / Integration process allowing for efficiency gains in future acquisitions.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for CAD-related issues.
- Develop and maintain CAD standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Train and support users on CAD software and tools, ensuring proper usage.
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize CAD workflows and processes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of CAD training programs.
- Coordinate with IT to ensure CAD systems are integrated with other technologies.
- Maintain documentation for CAD standards, libraries, and user guides.
- Domestic and International travel is required (0-30%).
Minimum requirements :
Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace, or a related field, including : 5+ years’ experience in 3D MCAD (e.
g., SolidWorks, Creo, Catia, Inventor, SolidEdge, OnShape experience.)
- Proven experience as a MCAD Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong technical proficiency in MCAD Data management, with a deep understanding of quality MCAD Data practices.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions for complex MCAD data remediation challenges.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to adapt to the target audience.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or Certified SolidWorks Expert (CSWE)
- Mechanical CAD PDM System Experience (SolidWorks PDM or similar systems)
