Summary

The primary role of Engineering function within Product Development team is to create specifications and designs for new products or improvements and enhancements to existing products.

Works closely with customers, developers and other stakeholders to understand and define customer needs in these designs.

Features are aligned to a timetable and areas of responsibility. Developers may solicit customers for feedback regarding product usability and desired future enhancements.

Software Engineers who design, write and test code for the product should be matched in the either Software Engineering Applications or Systems.

Product developers who specialize in hardware systems should be matched to Hardware Engineering.

The successful candidate will support two digital platform capability teams, owning the outcome based road map for machine connectivity and life cycle management capabilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The Senior Technical Product Manager will be in the unique position to directly impact the lives of our patients and their families and thus, you must possess both empathy and the technical intelligence to make big leaps in innovation and technology development.
  • Our Technical Product Managers work in dynamic development teams collaborating with Product Marketing, Architecture, UX, Quality, Regulatory, Test and others across multiple sites.
  • Candidate must therefore be a team player with passion and enthusiasm to drive the future direction of Client products from concept through to delivery.
  • This is a pivotal role for Client where, as a member of the digital product team, you will lead the product roadmap and be responsible for understanding and representing the business value delivered with your digital product.

To ensure success in the role, you will be able to demonstrate that you are a self-starter who is a big-picture thinker as well as detail-oriented.

  • Candidate must be a result-driven individual who works well within a fast paced agile team environment.
  • Candidate will be a key member of a collaborative software development team, responsible for requirements analysis and product definition, bringing together all of the disciplines required for successful delivery to market.
  • Collaborate with the Global Product Management and Product Marketing teams to identify business opportunities, understand customer problems, participate in product discovery activities, and take part in prioritization efforts.
  • Collaborate with Architects, other Technical Product Managers, and Technical Leads on the System Design to provide desired System of Systems functionality.
  • Facilitate design & discovery workshops and ongoing interaction with key stakeholders to develop functional (regulatory and market based) and non-functional (UX, scalability, performance, supportability and reliability) requirements.
  • Drive and own the product roadmap and product backlog; document and manage requirements and user stories to ensure the prioritized delivery of business value.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leadership to identify and resolve technical issues with the software engineering disciplines and review issues with Leadership where required.
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Observe the principles of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Mentor new hires and other Technical Product Managers; provide leadership and coordination within the TPM team.
  • Ensure that Client Regulatory and Product Development Processes are adhered to and recommend updates to quality management processes where appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Digital Health Technology processes and workflows, as well as an expertise in the functions and data of Digital Health Technology systems and applicable regulatory guidance and regulations.
  • Facilitate the definition of system interface specifications, to ensure the system components will integrate successfully by collaborating with Architecture, other Technical Product Managers, technical teams, external entities, standards bodies and Technical Leads.

Work with the Quality Engineering and Validation team to develop test strategies.

  • Collaborate with Program Management to help plan and manage risk.
  • Provide product leadership to the technical team members.
  • Work closely with development team to evaluate technical design alternatives to achieve desired functionality.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with modern web and cloud development tools, technologies, best practices and languages as well as a deep understanding of modern cloud software architectures and tools.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Sound understanding of the product development process and life cycle.
  • Deep experience with SCRUM Agile development methodologies.
  • Adept at articulating complex problems and structures with business leaders or engineers alike.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, systems thinking, problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong team player, an excellent facilitator as well as individual contributor.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable operating with ambiguity.
  • Understanding of regulations and customer specifications and their impact on design parameters (i.e. marketing, clinical, regulatory, manufacturing, quality, IP).
  • Experience in a regulated industry.
  • Experience with cloud native architectures.
  • Experience with AI / Client Solutions.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and / or education may be considered.
