Time-In-Grade Requirement : Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. LAUTENBERG AMENDEMENT : This position authorizes the incumbent to carry a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.
S.C., Section 922(g)(91)). Candidates who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not qualified for this position.

S.C., Section 1001)You may qualify based on your experience as described below : Specialized Experience : You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to : experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property.
- Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer;
- in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments;
in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. AND Driver's License : A current, valid state-issued Driver's License is required for this position.

Physical Requirements : The work requires, on a regular and recurring basis, considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as running, frequent climbing of multiple flights of stairs, and carrying items weighing over 50 pounds.
It requires stamina, physical agility, dexterity, and the strength to pursue, apprehend or detain persons who are often uncooperative, assaultive, and / or armed.
At level 8-1, the work is primarily sedentary, usually accomplished while the employee is seated at a desk or table such as when serving essentially full time in capacities such as desk officer, court coordinator, or other activities that are typically performed within the confines of the police / guard station or office.
Some walking, standing, or driving an automobile may be required during a normal workday in connection with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
Items carried typically are light objects such as briefcases, notebooks, and data processing reports. There may be short periods of moving around to check a few doors and locks;
and wearing an equipment belt containing a weapon, light, handcuffs, and related items. Lifting of moderately heavy objects is not normally required.
No special physical effort or ability is required to perform the work.At Level 8-2, the work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, driving, bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, and similar activities.
Employees engage in such exertions when responding to alarms, pursuing suspects, or participating in weapons or other kinds of training activities, climbing stairs in office buildings, or walking foot patrols in and around large buildings.
In some positions, the work may regularly involve lifting and carrying of heavy objects of kilograms (50 pounds) or less, such as weapons.
Some positions may require common physical characteristics and abilities in agility and dexterity and the strength to pursue, apprehend, and detain uncooperative suspects.
At level 8-3, the work requires, on a regular and recurring basis, considerable and strenuous physical exertion such as frequent climbing of multiple flights of stairs, lifting heavy objects over 50 pounds, crouching or crawling in restrictive areas during search or pursuit activities, or defending oneself or others against physical attack.
The position's responsibility to conduct searches, engage in surveillance, and participate in similar operations reflect the physical demands typical of Level 8-2.
On a regular and recurring basis, the work requires strenuous exertion to physically restrain disorderly individuals' ability to lift or carry injured or hurt persons and evacuate persons to, complete many required and recurring training activities, training.
