Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist :
- Review and process payroll data for employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Verify and correct timekeeping records, including in / out punches and missed punches, to ensure accurate calculation of wages and benefits.
- Process employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits programs, and respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits.
- Maintain compliance with HR regulations and company policies by ensuring that all employee files are up to date with required documentation.
- Track and manage employee time off, including vacation, sick leave, and other types of leave, to ensure accurate payroll calculations and reporting.
Requirements of the Payroll Specialist :
- Strong self-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently.
- Collaborative team player who communicates effectively and works well with others to achieve common goals.
- Proactive and eager to learn, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
- Previous experience with employee benefits administration preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll software and systems is a plus.
