About The Position
Are you a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist (OT) with a passion for helping patients regain their independence and quality of life?
We are seeking a dedicated OT to join our acute care team, where you will play a crucial role in assessing and treating patients with a wide range of physical and cognitive impairments.
Position : OT Acute Care
Location : Memphis, Tennessee
Schedule : Day ( 5 x 8 hours) 7 : 30 16 : 00
Duration : 13 Week Contract
Unit : O T Acute Care
What You'll Do :
As an Acute Care OT, you will work in a fast-paced hospital environment, providing essential therapy to patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, and other medical conditions.
Your expertise in functional assessment, therapeutic interventions, and patient education will be key in helping patients achieve their recovery goals and return to their daily activities.

Responsibilities :
- Evaluate patients' physical and cognitive abilities, as well as their limitations, to develop individualized treatment plans aimed at improving functional independence.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices, to help patients perform activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists, to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercises, safety precautions, and strategies for adapting to changes in function.
- Assess and recommend modifications to the patient's environment to enhance safety and accessibility, including home assessments as needed.
- Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge recommendations in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress, ensuring that goals are realistic and achievable.
- Participate in discharge planning, providing recommendations for continued care, rehabilitation, or transition to outpatient services.
Requirements :
- 2 years OT experience with travel or 3 years' experience with no travel
- Compact or TN License at time of submittal
- Must live at least 100 miles from facility
