About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Job Specialty : Outpatient Physical Therapy Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM Guaranteed Hours : 40 Experience : 2+ years of PTA experience License : Illinois License Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) Must-Have : - Strong background in total knee replacement (TKR) and total hip replacement (THR) is preferable - Experience in a busy outpatient clinic is preferable Job Description : Perform physical therapy procedures and related tasks under the supervision of a physical therapist (PT).
- Utilize clinical problem-solving skills to ensure patient safety and comfort during interventions.- Demonstrate effective communication and strong interpersonal skills to engage and motivate patients.
- Provide compassionate care and adhere to the APTA Code of Ethics.- Carry out treatment as directed by the supervising PT and provide a variety of treatment approaches using manual techniques and available equipment.
- Maintain competency in all areas of assigned client care; seek additional education to remain current in practice.- Document patient progress according to approved medical and facility procedures.
- Ensure that patient records comply with third-party payer requirements.- Function independently within the scope of the PTA Practice Act.
- Provide individualized patient and caregiver education.- Modify treatment based on patient progress and inform the PT of changes.
- Assist other staff members as needed to create an effective environment for rehabilitation.
