TikTok Data Access team is responsible for data access control to all online TikTok data, managing data schema in code for attribution and governing, layout foundation for modernized data tracking, deletion, retention, and linkage.

This Internship Program runs for 12 weeks beginning in May / June 2025. Responsibilities : - Design and develop large-scale software systems with low latency, high reliability, and disaster resilience.
- Develop systems to support TikTok's next phase of growth, ensuring high stability and performance.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new investments and solve critical problems.
- Contribute to rapid product development with high-quality work.
Minimum Qualifications- Currently pursuing an BS / MS in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline- Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during summer 2025- Proficient in at least one OOP language, such as Java, Go, C++, Python, etc.
- Understanding of design ideas for distributed system and architecture, including but not limited to service-oriented, asynchronous, highly available, scalable, etc.
- Deep understanding of computer architectures, data structures, and algorithms.- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications - Graduating December 2025 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
- Experience in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.- Familiar with common open source distributed middleware and components such as MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and MQ.
