Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU float pool position requiring a CA license, BLS, PALS, and at least two years of PICU or strong CVICU experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Pediatric ICU within a hospital environment
  • Float pool position with floating within hospital to NICU and other units as needed
  • Variable shifts including day and night 12-hour shifts, with required 4-5 weekend day shifts and 5-6 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Assignment includes requirement to work 2 out of 3 major holidays, including holiday eves
  • On-call responsibilities are required
  • Patient assignments include critically ill pediatric population
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting; prior Epic experience required
  • Main responsibilities include providing critical care to pediatric patients in ICU settings, with frequent floating as dictated by patient and staffing needs
  • Team-oriented, Magnet recognized, teaching hospital environment
  • Orientation modules to be completed pre-start and are not counted as paid orientation hours
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Maximum 6 days of requested time off; must work 3 shifts per affected week
  • Scrub in any color per personal preference
  • Free parking available for travelers
  • Position requires working with a multi-disciplinary team in a Level 1 trauma, Beacon Award-winning, and highly specialized pediatric care environment

    • \n \n Requirements\n

  • Active CA RN license required (in hand or with verifiable posting date)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent PICU experience or strong CVICU background with current floating experience
  • Current certifications : BLS and PALS
  • Previous travel or floating experience preferred
  • Recent experience with Epic EMR required
  • Flu vaccination required prior to start
  • Locals within 50 miles are not eligible
