Please see our website to learn more : www.GroundworkColorado.org.POSITION SUMMARYGroundwork Denver is looking for a fun and responsible leader to serve as a connector and a liaison for the community, connecting community members to our various programs to achieve Climate and Environmental Justice.

Reporting to the Climate Justice Director, the Regional Leader will support the day-to-day activities of the climate justice programs.

The Regional Leader will assist the program by coordinating with the Climate Justice Director, assisting in administrative tasks, conducting ongoing outreach by canvassing, hosting and attending virtual and possibly in-person meetings, facilitating virtual and possibly in-person workshops and classes, conducting virtual and possibly in-person interviews, tabling, speaking one-on-one with residents, and continually gathering feedback from the community on how to address climate-related issues.

This outreach aims to share information with community members about upcoming climate justice related programs such as tree plantings and water filter distribution events.

This position will also help the Climate Justice Director facilitate and implement the Civic Learning Lab, a 10-week program focused on leadership and advocacy development.

Additionally, this position will help the Climate Justice Director supervise a small youth team involved in the implementation of various programs.

The climate justice programs aims to achieve environmental justice for our communities that have historically and currently face issues of environmental racism.

Our programs focus on centering youth and community voice to guide our programs and how to best serve the community. The climate justice programs at the moment focus on tree plantings, water filter distribution and leadership development.

We aim to strengthen partnerships and community engagement efforts to improve the physical environment and promote health and well-being in our community.

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities in specific to the Climate Justice ProgramSupport day-to-day activities by : Communication and coordinating with youth teams Communication with the Climate Justice Director Support with climate programs by : Help with planning of events such as tree planting events and water filter distribution events by aiding with logistics Conduct community outreach Support with the development of outreach materials Support with the Civic Learning Lab development and implementation by prepping and attending bimonthly meetings and supporting with logistics during the meetingAssisting with the supervision of a youth teamSupport ongoing data collection efforts by : Distributing and collecting pre- and post-surveys for grant reporting Responsibilities to be successful in this positionMeet deadlines and complete tasks on timeStay organized to handle many details for multiple activitiesCommunicate regularly in email, text, over the phone, or in person with Climate Justice Director and other GWD staffBe reliable during set work hours, while also being flexible to last-minute changes to work tasks and schedule if neededResponsibilities as a member of the Groundwork Denver TeamActively participate in Groundwork Denvers journey towards Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) including discussions, readings, strategic planning, self-reflection, action, and more.

Participate in Groundwork Denver fundraising events and appeals. Participate in shared office responsibilities. Contribute to a positive office culture.

Collaborate respectfully and productively with co-workers to achieve Groundwork Denvers overall mission. Attend all staff meetings and other program meetings as assigned by the Executive Director.

Participate in occasional opportunities with Groundwork Denver staff in field work or volunteer activities when needed. Activities may include walking or hiking in natural areas and parks, picking up trash, planting trees, water sampling in rivers and streams, and other outdoor physical activity on a case-by-case basis.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, & EXPERIENCEPassion for Groundwork Denvers mission and alignment to our values and goals.Knowledgeable or having the desire to learn more about environmental justice The ideal candidate is already connected to environmental justice communities (Globeville-Elyria-Swansea, Aurora, Commerce City, Thornton, or Park Hill) with existing relationships Experience working with a team and independently, in work, volunteer, or school settingsGood communication skills in English, both written and oral;

Spanish-language skills are preferred Understanding of racial equity and a commitment to continuous personal learning and growth around issues of race and class equity Ability to accurately keep track of data including hours worked, activities conducted, and contact information for whom you engaged Those with experience working with populations that Groundwork Denver serves, or who have similar life experiences or backgrounds, will be strongly considered.

Ability and willingness to drive Groundwork Denvers 15-passenger van is preferred Per Groundwork Denvers insurance policy, vehicle(s) may only be operated by GWD authorized drivers who are at least 21 years old, possess a valid Colorado drivers license, and have at least two years of driving experience.

CANDIDATE PROFILEPassionate and Knowledgeable : Strong interest in environmental justice and community engagement, with a commitment to Groundwork Denvers mission.

Bilingual Communicator : Fluent in both Spanish and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Community Connector : Proven experience in community outreach, particularly within the following communities : Globeville-Elyria-Swansea, Aurora, Commerce City, Thornton, and / or Park Hill.

Youth Engagement : Successful track record of working with youth from communities of color, facilitating workshops, and leadership development.

Organized and Reliable : Capable of managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and maintaining accurate records, with flexibility for field work and office responsibilities.

ROLES Y RESPONSABILIDADES PRINCIPALESResponsabilidades especficas del Programa de Justicia ClimticaApoyar las actividades diarias mediante : Comunicacin y coordinacin con equipos juveniles.

Comunicacin con el Director de Justicia ClimticaApoyo con programas climticos mediante : Ayudar con la planificacin de eventos, como plantacin de rboles y eventos de distribucin de filtros de agua, ayudando con la logstica.

Realizar divulgacin comunitariaApoyo con el desarrollo de materiales de divulgacin.Apoyar el desarrollo y la implementacin del Laboratorio de Aprendizaje Cvico mediante la preparacin y ayudando a reuniones quincenales y ayudando con la logstica durante la reunin.

Ayudar con la supervisin de un equipo juvenil.Apoyar los esfuerzos continuos de recoleccin de datos mediante : Distribuir y recoleccin de encuestas previas y posteriores para la presentacin de informes sobre subvenciones.
