Course : Mathematics for Elementary Teachers I

This is the first in a two-course sequence designed for prospective elementary school teachers. Concepts include set theory, functions, numeration systems, number theory and properties of the natural numbers, integers, rational numbers, ratios, proportions, decimals, and percents, with an emphasis on problem solving and critical thinking.

What You Will Do :

  • Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
  • Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
  • Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University

What You Will Bring :

  • PhD in Mathematics
  • OR Master’s in Mathematics
  • Exceptions may be granted to individuals with a Masters in any field possessing either : 9 graduate credits in Mathematics or substantial teaching experience
