Overview
The Computer Science Laboratory is looking for a senior-level Computer Scientist to contribute to, and manage, research and development in the field of Formal Methods and neighboring areas in, e.
g., Machine learning, Cryptography, Computer security, Networking, Embedded and Cyberphysical systems.This role will be based in Menlo Park, CA and will be hybrid, some days working from a home office and some from this office.
This is part time 20 hours week.
Responsibilities
Contribute to, manage, and / or lead existing projects for government and commercial clients
- Lead business development efforts, reaching out to potential clients whose agenda may fit SRI's (this may involve frequent travels within the US)
- Contribute to, manage, and / or lead the development of proposals for new and follow-on R&D projects
- Make project-oriented oral presentations and write technical reports
- Communicate with peers, supervisors, and clients
- Possibly, manage staff.
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science
- Proven track record of significant research contributions in :
- Formal methods
- Programming languages
- 10+ years of leadership experience managing people and projects, obtaining research and development grants and contracts with government or commercial clients, and translating academic research into effective and user-facing implementations.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas in formal methods :
- SAT / SMT-solving
- Theorem proving and proof assistants
- Model-checking and static analysis for software, binary, and hardware verification
The salary range is : $178,650-$236,710 (full time salary equivalent). Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.
Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
