Program Manager
The Program Manager will lead project teams to manage and meet customer expectations, ensuring on-time and on-budget product execution. This role involves being the primary day-to-day contact with customers for project management, while also leading internal project teams to manage product development activities, program schedules, budgets, scope, and design objectives. The Program Manager will handle programs with varying scopes and complexities, interfacing with customers, engineers, functional managers, and leadership teams in a matrixed environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Sales Team and Systems Engineering to develop estimates and proposals for new business opportunities, as well as proposals and addendums for follow-on work with existing customers.
- Lead customer interactions for individual programs with a focus on managing customer expectations, including moderate business negotiation.
- Develop and maintain program plans, communicating program status to customers and internal teams.
- Direct and coordinate program activities such as schedule adherence, budget tracking, milestones, and design-to-cost objectives with limited oversight.
- Guide the successful completion of moderately challenging projects through collaboration with Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory Affairs, and external consultants and suppliers.
- Manage multiple projects and customers, typically overseeing 2-5 active programs of medium size and complexity.
- Lead cross-discipline teams in a matrix organization.
- Control and communicate project / program level risks, manage issues, and ensure project quality.
- Identify and execute opportunities for continual process improvement in product development processes.
- Occasionally identify creative opportunities to add value to individual customers' programs and products beyond the defined project scope.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in a technical field.5-10 years of experience in a customer-facing product development role.Knowledge of electronics-based medical device technology, including development cycles for software, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.Proven ability to manage medium-scale projects.Proficiency in MS Project for schedule development, resource allocation, and budget establishment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of business and management principles related to resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and team coordination.Knowledge of FDA, ISO 9001, and ISO standards.Experience with all phases of new product development from concept through commercialization.Additional Skills & Qualifications
PMP certification is a plus.Experience in the contract engineering service business preferred.Excellent independent work ethic and organizational skills.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
