Experience : 1.5 years required
License : Valid State License required at time of submission; Missouri requires a MO license or a compact license.
Certifications : BLS
Must-Have :
- Ability to float between Medical Surgical units
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Facial hair must allow for proper fit testing
Job Description :
- Work in the Medical Surgical float pool covering multiple hospitals within a 20-minute radius.
- Primarily support units similar to 3100 and 2100; patient types include Medicine, Colorectal Surgery, Urology Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Orthopedic Recon (Hip and Knee Replacement / Revision), Bariatric Surgery, General Surgery, and Orthopedic Spine Surgery.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4.
- Mandatory weekend shift every other weekend.
- First-time travelers accepted.
- No on-call required.
- Must adhere to local radius rules.
- Opportunity for a longer travel contract beyond 13 weeks, if interested.
Additional Information :
- Compliance deadline is the Wednesday before the start date.
- Compliance with hospital and state licensing requirements is mandatory.
- COVID-19 vaccine not required, but the flu vaccine is required with medical / religious exemptions only.
- Return staff policy : Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler. Standard travelers can stay for up to 18 months, with a 3-month break required.
