We are looking for a meticulous Payroll Manager to join our Corporate / Business Banking team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing payroll operations, ensuring the accuracy of accounting operations, and utilizing ADP Workforce Now.
This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. 3 days a week onsite 2 days remote
Responsibilities :
- Oversee and manage the entire payroll function to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize ADP Workforce Now for efficient payroll processing.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor changes in tax laws that may affect the payroll process.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll records and procedures to ensure accuracy.
- Develop strategies for improving the payroll process.
- Provide training to the team on payroll procedures and best practices.
- Prepare and present reports on payroll operations to senior management.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the payroll department
- Expertise in accounting operations, specifically relating to payroll
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal tax and labor laws
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
- Proven ability to work under strict deadlines
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Must be able to demonstrate ethical behavior and business practices.
