Travel Nurse RN - PCU in Burlington, NC
- Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Cardiac Medical Job Duration : 13-week assignment Shift : Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 00);
- Weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum of 2 years required; First-time travelers welcome License : Current license required upon submission Certifications : BLS, ACLS required;
NIH preferred Must-Have : Epic experience preferred Job Description : Work a self-assisted schedule in a 6-week period based on departmental need- Provide care focused primarily on cardiac patients, including : - Management of congestive heart failure - Acute coronary syndrome - Arrhythmias - Pre and post cardiac catheterization (with and without intervention) - Rule out myocardial infarction - Pacemaker placement- Secondary focus on respiratory issues such as COPD, pneumonia, and use of BiPAP- 24 / 7 Nurse assistants and RN secretary available from 7 : 00 AM to 11 : 00 PM- Utilize rapid response teams when necessary- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and telemetry on the unit- Care for pre / post-cardiac catheterization patients- Manage peripheral and PICC lines- Handle cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration required)- Administer procedural sedation- Manage chest tubes (Emerson, Pleur-evac), external CPAP / BiPAP, and tracheostomies- Float to various campuses as required- Complete modules during orientation (average 2-4 hours, non-billable) Additional Requirements : COVID-19 vaccine required with medical / religious exemptions considered- Flu vaccine required with medical / religious exemptions considered- Comply with all travel and compliance guidelines
