Controls Engineer

Controls Engineer- Austin, MN

Position Overview

We are a large industry leading manufacturer seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical controls, PLC programming, and automation technologies, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of our machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems for manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and other control devices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production efficiency and machine reliability.
  • Implement machine vision systems for quality control and process monitoring.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and performance tuning.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel on control systems.
  • Maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics and operational procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Controls Engineer or similar role in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical schematics.
  • Experience with Rockwell automation systems is highly desirable.
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional) certification a plus.
  • Strong understanding of PLC programming and HMI design.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls and machine vision technologies.
  • Experience with PAC, multi-axis, and servo motion control systems.
