This position will design and assist to coordinate the development of new products, new product features and new product extensions.
The specific responsibilities, experience, and knowledge requirements are as follows :
- Collaborate with design teams and vendors to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality goals.
- Provide direction and guidance to Designers, Drafters, and Technicians to coordinate their effort
- Generate multiple design concepts to solve design problems while working independently or with others as needed.
- Transform concepts into CAD models in collaboration with Design Engineers. Must possess the ability to accept direction and work well with all personality types.
- Perform stack-up analysis to verify designs ahead of prototyping
- Present high-level SolidWorks designs to teams for review. Must be able to accept and adjust to team direction.
- Assist Design Engineer to develop part, assembly and top-level drawings and their tolerances.
- Create and manage ECOs to implement parts, assemblies, and BOMs during the prototype and production design phases
- Coordinate prototype orders with vendors and fabrication staff
- Support all build activities including providing direction to line personal and generating solutions for team identified issues and risks
- Assist to evaluate part discrepancies and disposition their use
- Actively participate in annual goal setting, periodic reviews, one on one meetings, and team meetings

Required
Associates or better in Mechanical Design or related field.
Experience
Required
General knowledge of CSA / UL agency requirements. 8-10 years Engineering design experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
Preferred
GDTP or equivalent GD&T knowledge & experience Certified SolidWorks Professional Thorough knowledge of MS Office and ERP system.
Agile PLM preferred. Design experience with sheet metal, stack-up analysis, electrical, airflow and heat transfer. Design experience with appliances desired.
