CDL A Local Delivery Driver

J Job Profile Summary All drivers run daily routeswith frequent stops and are required to load packages onto handtrucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in theorder they are designated by the Transportation Department Manager.

The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock modelpicking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assignedloading dock and return the empty truck back to the assigned lot atthe end of the route.

May be required to assist occasionally withloading-trucks, palletizing product, and performing other duties asassigned by Supervisor or Manager.

The candidate will operate successfully in across-dock model picking up a loaded truck from a nightly deliveryat the assigned loading dock and return the empty truck back to theassigned lot at the end of the route.

May be required to assistoccasionally with loading-trucks, palletizing product, andperforming other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES Provide technical, customer relations, andpersonnel management for major programs and projects. Runs routesefficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times Unloadproduct from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place indesignated customer storage areas.

May include transporting productdown ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions. Frequentlylift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100pounds;

frequently reach up to 72 to stack and unstack pallets andhand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading and unloadingproduct, and retrieving items from trailer.

Verify delivery ofitems with customer and obtain proper signatures. Contactmanagement for authorization when discrepancies are on invoices.

Communicate all errors / returns. Calls in when a customer does notreceive their entire order (shorts) Handles any customer complaintsprofessionally Handles company equipment properly, follow writtendriver safety rules, and performs a pre-trip inspection.

Performpre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance withDepartment of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policiesand procedures QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements 21+ years ofage.

Must submit to a pre-employment background check and drugscreen. License to drive - valid Class A Commercial Driver License(CDL) with a clean driving record.

Ability to read, write andcommunicate in English. Touch freight may need to lift, push ormove product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100pounds repeatedly.

Flexibility overtime as required, weekends andholidays as business needs require. Preferred Requirements 1 yearcustomer delivery experience preferred.

6 months hand cart / handtruck experience preferred. 6 months Food and Beverage experiencepreferred. 2 years consistent work history preferred.
