We are currently looking for a Part-Time Domestic Violence Advocate to provide education and facilitate partnerships with youth and youth-serving communities to prevent intimate partner abuse.

The Advocate will be located at SafeHouse Denver’s Counseling & Advocacy Center. Th e Part-Time Domestic Violence Advocate is responsible for providing education to community members, youth-serving agencies, and school professionals on various topics related to intimate partner abuse and healthy relationships.

The Advocate will also focus on creating and fostering relationships to collaborate on serving youth survivors and secondary survivors.

we believe in a welcome and equitable environment. What You'll Be Doing : Provide advocacy-based support and education to youth and youth-facing agencies.

Coordinate and facilitate various psychoeducation presentations on the dynamics of domestic violence and healthy relationships to students and professionals in several middle schools and high schools.

Support students and youth in the school setting for various crisis intervention, resourcing, and advocacy-related needs as survivors or secondary-survivors of domestic violence.

Facilitate other partnership opportunities such as cross training, tabling events, or other activities benefiting youth survivors and those they engage with.

Promote and foster partnerships for the Youth Advocacy Program. Sit on and engage with various multidisciplinary teams related to anti-violence work with youth.

Identify and connect with youth-serving agencies for potential partnerships, both on the community and systems side (i.e.

Department of Youth Corrections). Participate in all required staff meetings and supervision. Support SafeHouse Denver’s Community Program efforts : Participate in tabling, community education, and other community-facing events and projects related to general domestic violence awareness.

Demonstrate initiative and vision for service quality improvement and problem prevention and resolution. Work diligently to achieve individual, team, and agency goals and objectives.

Network with other service providers and community agencies to assist clients and the agency. Maintain accurate and timely record keeping.

Responsible for appropriate charting and completing all necessary documentation. Complete required and time-sensitive data collection and entry.

All other duties as assigned. Do You Have What It Takes? Required : Preferred : Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field 2 years of experience working with youth.

  • Superior interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; superior time management and organizational skills;
  • ability to meet deadlines and deliver results Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field Attentive, responsive, reliable, and proactive;

ability to pivot as necessary to meet the needs of the community and survivors. A solid understanding of how people and organizations change and the ability to be adaptable.

Detail-oriented with strong technical aptitude; advanced proficiency in utilizing MS Office Ability to work in a diverse environment Passion for the SafeHouse Denver mission Strong working knowledge of domestic violence and empowerment models;
