Position Title : Procurement Specialist

Location : Austin, TX

Direct Hire

Purpose :

The procurement Specialist will perform and coordinate purchasing and inventory management activities of the company’s purchased and inventoried supply.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with centers (locations) and other departments to identify purchasing needs.
  • Assist with the collection of data and analysis of current inventories to determine required quantities to purchase.
  • Actively engage with center staff to maintain accurate inventory information and ensure availability of required quantity to optimize site operations.
  • Create and administer purchase orders.
  • Work with suppliers to coordinate and track shipments to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Work with Supply Chain leadership to implement purchasing and inventory management practices, and reporting capabilities, to be used for ensuring optimal inventory levels and purchasing processes.
  • Maintain purchasing and inventory transactions in the ERP system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :

  • Hands-on experience with purchasing and inventory management activities, specifically the creation and administration of purchases per supply plans.
  • Working knowledge with ERP systems such as Microsoft, SAP, or Oracle; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education and Experience :

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the principal job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
  • In-Office Position, mainly sedentary work (office work).
  • Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must possess auditory and visual acuity.
