Position Summary :

Position Requirements :

Formal Education / Training :

1. Earned a nursing diploma or degree from acollege or university.

2. Licensed in the State ofTennessee.

3. BLS within 90 days of hire.

4.For 3rd floor telemetry unit

a. Basic arrhythmia within 6months of hire

b. ACLS within 6 months of hire

5. For float pool and float pool extended

a. Basicarrhythmia within 6 months of hire

b. ACLS within 6months of hire

c. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)certification within 6 months of hire

6. For criticalcare

a. Basic arrhythmia within 6 months ofhire

b. ACLS within 6 months of hire

c.Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification within 6months of hire

d. AACN, CCRN or CCP certification withintwo years of hire

7. For Oncology

a. ONSchemo / immunotherapy certification within one year of hire

Physical Effort :

1. Able to communicate inEnglish verbally and legibly.

2. Requires prolongedstanding and working for up to twelve hours a day

3. Ableto stand / work for up to twelve hours a day.

4. Able tolift with assistance up to 250 lbs.

Key Results :

Performs a comprehensive assessment on all patients within theappropriate time of admission utilizing skills of observation,communication and examination;

including data obtained frompatient, family and other members of the healthcare team.

Plans the patient's care on an individual basis, identifyingproblems / needs, nursing diagnosis, standards of care / practice,interventions consistent with identified problems and attainableoutcomes.

Plans for patient teaching, discharge and postdischarge needs as appropriate for patient population.

Functions independently with treatments, procedures and equipmentappropriate to areas evidence by adherence to policy, procedure andcompetency based assessment and no pattern or trend ofproblem.

Handles / transports / stores / prepares / administersmedications / solutions safely and in accordance with hospital anddepartmental policies and procedures.

Documentsaccurately and timely.

Reassess patient's condition,evaluate patient response and modify plan of care accordingly andin a timely manner.

Accepts charge responsibilities andassigns staff with consideration of patient condition and carerequirement, acuity and complexity of patient's condition.

Facilitates staff development

Maintains healing andtherapeutic environment for the patient and family.
